Felipe Muanis, Adjunct professor at Cinema and Video Department and Programa de Pós-graduação at Universidade Federal Fluminense/UFF, in Television and Digital Media area, Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Felipe Muanis received his PhD in 2010 from Social Communication Department at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais / UFMG, with DAAD-CAPES scholarship at Bauhaus Universität-Weimar, Germany. The dissertation thesis examines the metaimages in television breaks, analyzing id’s and artbreaks from Brazilian TV channels as TV Globo and MTV, and associating it with 1920’ avant-garde film images. Im 2010 he held a position as Visiting Professor of Television and Digital Media at Universität Padeborn.

His interests and research span a variety of fields: television theory; contemporary movements between television, cinema, videogames; digital and other media, focusing on reception; different perspectives on television, their realizations in different countries and their televisiographies; comic books, media, image and storytelling. He leads the research group “Entelas: grupo de pesquisa em televisão, teoria, imagem e recepção” at UFF.
